MCSAR Mobile Unit
What do they do?

The Mobile Unit provides extended range and flexibility during SAR operations, acting as primary search elements, communication relays, and equipment and personnel transports. The Mobile Unit often scouts back roads and trails to help operations personnel plan extended ground searches by reporting on field conditions, ingress and egress routes and other conditions which may affect the overall search effort. The vehicles are equipped for a variety of tasks, with winches, tow straps, cutting equipment, enhanced first-aid supplies and communications gear at the ready to tackle any need that might arise. Mobile units often travel in pairs with ATV/ORV unit members.

What kind of training is required?
